Center Of It All
General Idea/lesson learned:
Pride is something I think we all have even when we aren’t trying to be “prideful.” I've been there and didn't even realize it... When you try to take control, you can sometimes feel like you aren’t good enough. I believe that pride is there because we are putting our feelings above the calling God has for us. I don’t want to be this way. I want to lay all selfish pride down and confidently walk in what God has for me.
Why I wrote this song:
I went into this write with “not feeling good enough.” It’s not a good feeling, that’s for sure. Sharing this with the songwriters. Telling them that I don’t know why God chose me for this path, but I’m going to do my best. Despite feeling not good enough. At the time of writing this song, I was struggling so bad with self confidence. I was in a bad place mentally.
Then we wrote this song and it was a reminder that it’s not about me. None of this is about me. If God didn’t think I could do the music thing, my calling would have been different. He chose me for this, but it’s all about him. I want you to be encouraged. Just know that your calling will look different than someone else's. There's a reason God chose you for this. You may not see it right now, but just be patient and grow through every moment. You have a purpose. I promise.
Prayer:
Hey God,
Even though I have struggled with insecurities, I know that you created me for a specific purpose. God I want you to lead me in everything I do. Even if I feel like I cant do it, Give me the strength to walk confidently. Thank you for loving me enough to give and care about my unique purpose. I want this to be all about you. Not me.
